I strongly think grades should not be abolished for many reasons. Grades push kids to do their very best. Having grades will help kids know what they are doing well in and what they need to work on. Some people might argue that grades are too stressful, but in my opinion they help kids with what they need to work on.
Why the grading system should be changed?
Motivate students to excel. It lets students slip by in their course work and thereby win the higher education game. A better grading system would build in incentives for students to aim high, work hard, and do their best. It would demand strong performances to earn any points and would make inferior work unacceptable.
